Maintenance of the Mountain Rivers property is assisted by another MTE team member, Marcus Hiam, from Warragul. Marcus' background includes school and campsite property maintenance, bus and taxi passenger transport, as well as off-road vehicle recovery with the Australian Army. Being only 20 minutes from Walhalla, enables Rawson to be the base for many of MTE's popular 4WD tours through the ghost towns, mines and mountains near there. These include the Copper Mine Adventure for day visitors to Walhalla as well as Historic Ghost Town tours for groups staying at Rawson Village. The MTE team has run tours for up to 128 students in a day from Rawson Village, and worked with coach companies and Walhalla's Star Hotel in catering for international visitors on cruise ship excursions from Melbourne.
With the growth in both the paintball and accommodation businesses on site, in 2009 we welcomed Geoff and Tasha Heyblom and family to manage the Lodge and join the MTE team, while the Bushes continued operating the paintball, while living at home in Drouin, which better suited their children's schooling.
During 2008~2010 another MTE team member and accomplished handyman, Peter Holliday, assisted with a series of building projects on site, which included the addition of two bedrooms to the managers' residence, building two sensational new
Mountain-Top Spa Chalets and a Bunkhouse, deck extension and kitchenettes at the Lodge. Mountain Rivers Lodge has become a great location for MTE 4WD driver training residential courses.

The mini-bus business has been growing steadily over the last few years as well. In 2006 we imported and modified a Toyota Super Custom 4WD 10-seater mini-bus for our Melbourne Airport-Mt Baw Baw snow transport service. An old friend from Fusion, Murray (Muzz) Brown joined the MTE team in 2007 as part time Mini-bus Business Manager. By 2010 his networking skills had built it to a size where we needed a full time manager, allowing Muzz to retire. We then were delighted to welcome Dr Christine Sindt to the MTE team. Her background in chemistry, engineering and education, together with qualifications in business management and tourism, and her enthusiasm for community networking have continued building this business. During 2010 we replaced the old Bus2 with a newer Toyota Commuter 12-seater, and added Bus5 another Super Custom for the Heyblom family, and Bus6, a Commuter 12-seater automatic.
Our latest news in 2011 is that we have purchased a luxury 21-seater
Mitsubishi Rosa Mini-coach to meet demand for a larger bus for many of our customers, including industrial tourism in the Latrobe Valley. Hopefully it will also assist in bringing more customers to Gippsland for MTE 4WD passenger tours, to Mountain Rivers Lodge, and to our other affiliated businesses. The future is exciting!
