The National 4x4 Show, Melbourne Showgrounds is on Fri~Sun 3~5/9/10. Come along and say hello to us on stand A10b 'Gippsland's High Country'.

In our last newsletter I wrote: "I don't usually get 'political' but this hurts…. Those of you who've done our driver training course will remember our favourite sand hill….. So why was it closed last week? …. Watch this space…!"
Well, we finally succeeded!!! DSE have agreed to re-open it. Our part of the deal is to clear the felled trees, so that the DSE dozer can push the sand back up it. You are welcome to join our working bee on Sat 11/9/10, with BBQ lunch provided.

Day Trips:
SOUTH GIPPSLAND'S HEARTBREAK HILLS. Sat 16/10/10. Hear the story and see the country. Softroader friendly, with a bit of help, or maybe a lot depending on the weather! See why they build wind farms here. Pricing $100/vehicle tag-along (Past customers $90).

SNOTLUF CHALLENGE. Sun 28/11/10. A difficult track made possible when we tackle it backwards. Steep goldmining country north of Morwell. Spectacular, and a learning experience. Pricing as above.

Camping trips:
BETTER THAN WONNANGATTA. Sat~Tue 30/10/10~2/11/10 (Melb Cup Weekend) A remote, historic valley with beautiful campsites, surrounded by mountains and tough 4WD tracks. No it's not Wonnangatta, it's in southern NSW, and it's away from the crowds. Friday night start, meeting in Cooma Sat lunchtime. Pricing $300/vehicle tag-along (Past customers $270).

EAST GIPPSLAND'S KAKADU. Sat~Wed 22~26/1/11 (Aust Day 5-day long weekend). Relaxing riverside camping. Explore some of the most spectacular and little visited parts of our state, including our own secret 'Kakadu' waterfall and swimming hole. Meeting in Orbost. Pricing $300/vehicle tag-along (Past customers $270).

SOUTH AUSTRALIAN SAND. Sat~Mon 12~14/3/10 (Labour Day Weekend) Sand dunes and beach driving at their best, and we know the best spots for it! This time we'll tackle it at a time of year which will enable new challenges. Friday night start, meeting at Mount Gambier on Saturday morning. Camper trailer friendly. Pricing $300/vehicle tag-along (Past customers $270).

Driver training:
CERTIFICATE RESIDENTIAL COURSE. Sat~Sun 18~19/9/10 or 9~10/10/10 or 20~21/11/10. Equip yourself with training to nationally accredited standards. This two day residential course includes entertaining classroom presentations and practical field exercises relevant to your 4WD vehicle. Learn from accidents and rescues that have happened to others, so you don't repeat them! Pricing $200/participant (includes training booklet), partners $50, optional accommodation $90/night (motel unit, double/single). These acclaimed courses are filling rapidly, so get in quickly.
