June 2010 We are delighted to welcome Dr Christine Sindt to the MTE team as manager of the mini-bus business.
The mini-bus business has been growing steadily over the last couple of years, while at the same time Murray (Muzz) Brown has been trying to retire from it!
Being from the Latrobe Valley originally, Christine's background is in chemistry, engineering and education, having taught at secondary and tertiary levels. She recently established a Sudanese school in association with the Gippsland Lutheran Church.
She also has certificates in business management, tourism (tour guiding), and information technology. She has experience with Toyota HiAce vehicles through her family's electrical business and university usage, and has obtained a Light Rigid Licence for larger buses.
We believe Christine has the right administrative and practical skills, together with the community networking and enthusiasm to develop this business into a full-time occupation. In particular she has the capacity to take on the industrial tour and educational opportunities which may open up through our negotiations which are now nearing conclusion.
Muzz has given us four years of faithful service as a part time employee, having met us through his involvement with Fusion Youth and Community work. At age 71, Muzz has retired to the Fusion village at Poatina, Tasmania, albeit taking a retired mini-bus with him! Christine officially took over running the mini-bus business on the 1st May, 2010, based in the cottage at 45 McLean St, Morwell.and the phone number for this is now ours plus one:
ie. 5134 6877. This is now the number to contact for: > Mini-bus hire > Airport bus to Melbourne > Mini-bus tours of Gippsland Our Mt Baw Baw Transport Service, which we operate using 4WD vehicles, is still contacted through 5134 6876. At the same time our fleet of mini-buses is being upgraded. A new 12-seater Bus2 is replacing the old column-shift one.
